Sumitomo Heavy Industries Group has been awarded a Bronze rating by EcoVadis, a leading international sustainability assessment organisation, following its latest group wide sustainability evaluation.
EcoVadis assesses companies across four key areas: Environment, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. The assessment covers more than 175 countries and over 120,000 companies worldwide.
The Bronze rating is awarded to organisations performing within the top 35 per cent of companies assessed. Sumitomo Heavy Industries Group achieved a score that placed it in the top 28 per cent, reflecting the strength of its sustainability governance and practices across the group.
This recognition supports the group’s commitment to sustainability management based on a multi-stakeholder perspective, focused on enhancing both social and corporate value. Initiatives include reducing CO₂ emissions across the value chain, strengthening human rights risk management, reinforcing corporate ethics, and promoting responsible procurement.
