Sumitomo Heavy Industries to showcase advanced semiconductor technologies at SEMICON Europa 2025

Semicon

Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. (SHI) will present a broad range of semiconductor-related technologies at SEMICON Europa 2025 in Munich, Germany (18-21 November) with equipment and specialists from across its global businesses attending.

SHI will exhibit at Hall B1, Booth B1456, highlighting the Group’s long-term commitment to supporting the growth of the semiconductor industry in Europe and worldwide.

The stand will bring together expertise from SHI’s Mechatronics Division, Industrial Equipment Division, and the SHI Cryogenics Group, each contributing technologies widely used in device manufacture, inspection and fab-level applications.

Their combined presence demonstrates SHI’s depth in motion systems, process equipment and cryogenic solutions for high-precision and high-reliability semiconductor environments.

A particular focus at this year’s show will be SHI’s semiconductor-equipment capabilities through SMIT (Sumitomo Heavy Industries Ion Technology) and LASSE (Laser Systems & Solutions of Europe SASU), which became part of SHI in January 2025.

LASSE will participate on the SMIT segment of the stand, highlighting the growing integration between SHI’s ion-implantation technologies and laser-annealing solutions for power-semiconductor devices.

Their joint attendance highlights SHI’s strategy to strengthen its semiconductor-technology footprint in Europe and provide closer support for advanced manufacturing, particularly in fast-expanding sectors such as electric vehicles and renewable energy.

SEMICON Europa, co-located with productronica, is the region’s leading annual platform for semiconductor equipment, materials, design and manufacturing.

With Europe placing increased emphasis on production capability and supply-chain resilience, SHI’s presence reinforces its ability to support customers across a wide spectrum of applications, from power device processing to cryogenic systems for vacuum and deposition technologies.

SHI will welcome visitors throughout the event at Hall B1, Booth B1456.
